Knowledge hiding and knowledge hoarding: Using grounded theory for conceptual development

Knowledge hiding and knowledge hoarding define two organizational behaviors that integrate withholding related phenomena in organizations. Although recent literature presents efforts to conceptually differentiate hoarding, evidence shows there are emerging gaps resulting from conceptual empirical inconsistencies between the constructs. This paper addresses need for theoretical clarification by developing on use of Grounded Theory (GT) as a systematic methodology expand both phenomena. work explores core characteristics procedures GT can support pursuit refinement behind dimensions withholding. It three philosophical rationales conceptualization using Classic, Interpretivist Constructivist GT. Specifically, it provides framework discusses concerns researcher, review processes, data collection methods, coding analysis strategies should be considered ensure quality research.
